Our Mission
This is the truth: You were created for a reason.
Too many times we wander through life looking for purpose hoping our “sonar” will lock onto something that we like. We just need a little help finding it. Right?
Here’s my issue with most self-help studies. They encourage you to “find yourself”, discover what motivates you, and get in touch with yourself. The problem is that when the thing we wrongly put our purpose in is wrecked, so are we.
Don’t get me wrong, I believe God put a talent and calling inside you to be used, but for a follower of Jesus, this talent or gift isn’t the starting place. “Finding yourself” isn’t where we begin. Let’s be honest, sometimes you are kind of miserable with yourself. So why would you spend more time finding you?
Instead, we follow the call of Jesus and lose ourselves to find Jesus. This flies in the face of our instincts, which is self-preservation. When we put our purpose in Jesus Christ, our purpose is indestructible.
Now ask yourself: What does self-preservation look like for me? The irony is that deep inside our being our hearts cry for more. But fear and comfort hold us back. Self-preservation is what comes easiest.
Sitting on the couch binge-watching is easiest. Staying in the wrong relationship is easiest. Not investing in your dream is easiest. There is no risk.
And sometimes we hate ourselves for it.
And we dread the mundane.
And we fear the chaos.
But in Jesus Christ, there is hope and a true way of living. There is Indestructible Purpose.
